OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME : The WHO Global Service Centre (GSC) provides administrative services to all staff and all WHO offices worldwide in respect of human resources, payroll, procurement, accounts payable and support of specific corporate IT applications. The aim of this Centre is to serve as the global processing platform for the swift and reliable delivery of a comprehensive array of products and services covering all these fields. The Global Human Resources (GHR) team within the GSC focuses on the execution of HR services on a global scale with the aim to provide reliable, efficient, and consistent services as a one-stop-shop for all staff in WHO and partner agencies. | |
Description of duties: This is a generic Job Description. Incumbents work under supervision and are responsible for carrying out some of the duties outlined below, as assigned. The duties are not all-inclusive nor are all duties carried out by all incumbents. Staff may be rotated and assigned to perform other duties including ad-hoc assignments as determined by the supervisor for reinforcing the teams or replacing staff as required. -Provides support in the processing of contract administration, allowances and benefits -Supports the preparation of appointments, reassignments and separation correspondence and related administrative documentation and authorizations based on information received -Processes and updates data correctly in the system WHO Global Management System (GSM) according to established rules and procedures; -Ensures expiry dates of entitlements are correctly tracked to avoid over or under-payment; -Reviews and processes staff entitlements and advances; -Prepares statistical reports to Headquarters and Regional Offices; -Other duties as required | |
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS | |
Education: Completion of secondary school education or equivalent. Higher education an asset. | |
Skills: -Meticulous and detail-oriented -Proficient in the use of MS Office suite or equivalent. | |
Experience: Essential: -Minimum 2-4 years of work experience. Desirable: -Experience in the area of HR administration in a shared service environment -Experience with an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP | |
Languages: Good working knowledge of English (written and spoken). Knowledge of another WHO Official Language an advantage. | |
