For more than thirty years WSPA has been dedicated to enhancing welfare and ending cruelty to animals across the world. Our vision is of a world where animal welfare matters and animal cruelty has ended.
WSPA is active in more than 50 countries and we are supported by millions of people. With special consultative status at the UN, we work closely with governments, international institutions, and businesses to deliver change for animals.
Animal welfare is not a stand-alone issue. It impacts on and is affected by climate change, food security, development and poverty. WSPA works to ensure that the needs of animals find a place in these pressing global debates and to demonstrate that true sustainable development must include animal welfare. WSPA will bring attention to the issues of welfare and animal cruelty and mobilise people and organisations to change how we perceive and treat animals. Building on our work to date WSPA’s strategy for the future is to develop substantial programmes to enhance animal welfare and to stop animal cruelty in: farming; the wild, disasters, and communities.
