The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is seeking to recruit a national from its Member Countries to fill the position of Deputy Director, Corporate Planning Division. The successful candidate will be based at CDB’s headquarters in St. Michael, Barbados.
CDB is a regional multilateral development bank which was established in October 1969 to contribute to the harmonious economic growth and development of the member countries in the Caribbean Region and to promote economic cooperation and integration among them, having special and urgent regard to the needs of the less-developed members of the Region. CDB began operations in January 1970 and has become a leading catalyst for providing development financing, technical assistance and policy advice to its Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs) for the reduction of poverty.
The Role
The Deputy Director, Corporate Planning Division (DD, CPD) will report to the Vice-President (Corporate Services) and Bank Secretary. He/she will have responsibility for providing high level technical expertise in the review, analysis, formulation, coordination/integration and monitoring of corporate, financial, operational and sector policies, strategies, plans and programmes, in order to support CDB’s continual drive to improve its effectiveness and responsiveness in satisfying the needs/requirements of its Member Countries. The DD, CPD will be supported by a team of two professional staff, the Chief Programme Analyst and Results Management Analyst, and administrative staff.
In addition, the DD, CPD will be involved in determining and monitoring the allocation of financial resources to projects/programmes financed by the Bank and information on resource availability and use; providing Management with technical support on resource mobilisations; maintaining a comprehensive set of statistical data on CDB’s performance; and liaising with other donor agencies/financial institutions from which CDB obtains resources.
The Candidate
1. Eligible candidates should have a Masters’ degree or equivalent professional qualification in an area relevant to development banking, and specifically to the work of the Division; with a first degree in any of the fields related to business, finance and accounting or other relevant discipline.
2. Candidates should have at least 12 years professional experience in a regional or international financial institution with highly developed knowledge of strategic planning and corporate budgeting.
3. Candidates should have at least six (6) years management experience, at a senior level, in a public, regional or international organisation, or in a reputable private sector organisation.
4. The successful candidate must be willing to live and work in Barbados.
