Project coordinator ‘Protection Standards in humanitarian context’

The coordinator operates in the framework of the Inter-Agency Child Protection Working Group (CPWG) and executes its strategy of promoting and implementing the child protection standards in humanitarian context (the so-called ‘Minimum Standards’). In co-shared responsibilities with Save the Children, the position coordinates the 30 agencies behind the Minimum Standards, pursuing their international promotion, integration of the standards in existing intervention programs and support mechanisms (human resources, fundraising). The position is also responsible for ensuring the application of the Minimum Standards within Terre des hommes.
Tasks:
• Executing the Strategy on implementation of the child protection standards in humanitarian contexts 2012-2014
• Coordinating with the member agencies and different Task Forces of the Child protection Working Group on planning, implementing and following up the Strategy 2012-2014
• Developing the communication and training material aimed at promoting the Minimum Standards towards different targeted actors (Agencies members of CPWG, donors, academics…)
• Supporting regional promotion events on the Minimum Standards
• Developing guiding and monitoring tools on institutionalization of the ‘Minimum Standards’
• Elaborating, implementing and monitoring an internal action plan serving the implementation of the Minimum Standards within Terre des hommes
Your Profile:
• University degree
• 5 years of experience in Development Cooperation or Humanitarian Aid and more specific in child protection
• Significant experience in inter-agency coordination
• Fluent in English and French, German is an asset
• High skills in communication and inter-personnal relations, team player
• Dipsonibility for frequent field missions
Child Protection Policy:
• To commit to respect Tdh Risk Management Policies including: Child Protection Policy, Safety and Security Policy and Anti-Fraud/Corruption Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy.
• To commit to ensure the best implementation possible of the Tdh Risk Management Policies in his duty.
• To commit to inform supervisors and to deal with any cases, allegations, or possibility of transgression, even potential, of the Tdh Risk Management Policies.
Position Start Date: 1st of December 2012
Project Duration: 2 years (renewable)
