By the end of 2012 all our international programmes will be delivered through a merged operation with 14 000 staff, managed through seven regional hubs and reporting to a relatively small, central office. The role
To provide a professional, value added support service to the finance manager and central office budget-holders by:

• producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts
• assisting the budget holder with understanding of actual vs budget management reports
• providing ‘early warning’ signals if numbers are not on track
• being the finance support in any decision-making
• partnering with budget holders in the production of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
• reviewing regional office costs compared to budgets and forecasts
• assisting with the production of the monthly consolidated management accounts
• assisting with the production of the KPIs and Funding Grid

Qualifications and experience
• strong analytical skills – the ability to analyse complex financial data and design and produce effective management information.
• experience of budgeting, budget management and forecasting
• a thorough understanding of financial systems and procedures
• excellent IT literacy including expertise in spreadsheet modelling and analysis
• applies personal organisation strategies and processes to prioritise and effectively manage a large and diverse workload in a pressured environment, working to short and long-term objectives
• strong time management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles, and an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work to tight deadlines
• strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance professionals
• conscientious and customer focussed, wanting to help budget holders
• the ability to influence others, to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility, tact and diplomacy
• verbal and written fluency in English
• thorough – high attention to detail and takes pride in delivering accurate, high quality work.
• maintains a calm disposition and positive outlook particularly when working under pressure
• a full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment.
