Part Time : 20 hours per week (50% FTE)
The appointment will be on UCL Grade Clinical Senior Lecturer (Consultant). The salary range will be £76,666 - £85,991 per annum, pro rata, according to seniority, inclusive of London Allowance.
Applications are invited for the position of Clinical Senior Lecturer/ Honorary Consultant in the newly established Arthritis Research UK Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology at UCL, ULCH and GOSH.
The postholder will split their time between research, clinical duties and administration as necessary to function as a Clinical Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant as appropriate. The appointee will be expected to develop a high quality research programme, including the securing of external grant funding, publication in high impact journals, and the supervision of research students.
The appointee will be expected to develop a research group with a focus on translational research and/or clinical trials in Adolescent Rheumatology within the Centre.
The post holder will undertake Clinical duties, specifically in transitional clinics, at Great Ormond Street Hospital and on some occasions at University College London Hospital.
This post is initially funded for 5 years.
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent experience. MRCPCH/MRCP or equivalent and CCT in Paediatrics or Paediatric Rheumatology or eligibility to apply to be on the UK specialist register in paediatric rheumatology are both essential. Candidates must be eligible for GMC registration. The candidate must have a strong research record including track record of obtaining peer reviewed and research grant funding. Experience of supervising research students and a commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level are both essential.
