Overview: The Love146 US Prevention Education Manager is a full-time position based out of the New Haven, CT office. The US Prevention Education Director manages our Prevention Education efforts throughout the United States, including curriculum implementation and overseeing the associated program components such as intervention and mentoring. This position is the direct report for all US Prevention Education staff and contractors and ensures the program is managed within an approved budget.
Job Responsibilities:
US Education Program Development and Management
- With input from the VP of Programs and US Programs staff, implement our US Prevention Education Program strategy to ensure successful pursuit of identified program goals.
- Research/approve existing prevention education curriculums to impact individual children and affect systemic change. If required manage the development process of a new prevention education curriculum.
- Manage staff and contractors who implement the US Prevention Education curriculum in schools.
- Continue to develop Love146 training materials for adults/service provider trainings (such as adults working with at-risk and exploited children, police etc.).
- Manage staff and contractors who conduct adult trainings (using new and existing training materials) for service providers.
- Regularly implement the curriculum by facilitating the classroom or group sessions in schools and other appropriate settings - and conduct trainings (using new and existing training materials) for adults/service providers.
- Develop and implement a protocol for Love146 staff and partners to handle cases of child sex trafficking/exploitation including disclosures resulting from US Prevention Education Program sessions and adult/service provider trainings.
- Regularly analyze and evaluate the results of US Prevention Education Program activities.
Program Personnel & Client Management
- Recruit contractors for key US Prevention Education Program positions and conduct interviews for all new US Prevention Education Program staff in accordance with HR policies.
- Oversee US Prevention Education Program staff ensuring a standard of excellence is maintained throughout all our US Prevention Education programs and ensure all HR requirements are met (annual performance reviews, timesheets, etc.).
- Manage contracts with clients (such as CT DCF) for Love146 service provision.
Program Financial Management
- Create a yearly budget for the US Prevention Education Program and administer budgetary controls to ensure the program remains within the limits of established costs.
- Ensure overall US Prevention Education Program goals meet financial investment.
Reporting and Team Interaction
- Provide weekly reports to the VP of Programs and other management personnel depicting program’s progress and the development of new projects.
- Assist the Development, Task Force and Communications team with US Prevention Education Program information to successfully procure sustainable funding.
- Provide input to the VP of Programs on our US Programs strategy and growth needs, including but not limited to survivor care, mentoring, trainings and education opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters Degree in a relevant field –social sciences preferred. Exception may be made where outstanding relevant experience is demonstrated.
- Five years experience in the NGO field related to children at risk preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in managing cross-cultural teams and/or staff is essential.
- Significant program planning and evaluation training.
- Financial Management experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- A thorough understanding of the Human Trafficking issue.
- Knowledge of child sexual abuse/exploitation and experience working with this population from both an aftercare and preventative perspective.
- Ability to develop new curricula for US Programs.
- Knowledge and experience working with state and private child welfare agencies.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in relevant computer applications such Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
