Coast and Estuary Officer

The position is responsible for managing environmental restoration projects and co-ordinating landholder engagement programs with a focus on Coast and Estuary projects, and providing technical advice regarding natural resource management projects. The position also completes grant applications that align with local and regional environmental priorities.

SELECTION CRITERIA
(SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CAPACITY)
  • High level of interpersonal skills including negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution to enable effective liaison with people at all levels
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent relevant experience) in Environmental Resource Management, Environmental Science, or demonstrated equivalent
  • Experience in working with community groups, volunteers and rural landholders
  • Sound knowledge and experience in natural resource management issues and bush regeneration
  • Expertise in project management, planning, reporting writing and record keeping
  • Experience in applying for and administering grants
  • Current driver’s licence
  • A sound understanding of the principles of EEO and OH&S
  • Keyboard skills and computer literacy
Salary Range: $58,924 to $68,992 pa (incl. super + retention allowance) + flexitime + commuter use only motor vehicle
