As part of our growing capability you will lead teams working on environmental projects for the petroleum industry initially in the technical leadership design preparation and review of environmental approvals including offshore Environment Plans (EPs) Oil Spill Contingency Plans (OSCPs) and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs). These will be for all petroleum related activities (e.g. seismic (2D 3D OBC) appraisal and development drilling full field development decommissioning activities and subsea tie-back/infrastructure expansion).
 
SKM are looking for candidates with a background in either Environmental Approvals / Environmental Management or Marine Science. For candidates with an Environmental Approvals / Environmental Management background wider responsibilities of the role would include some of the following depending on your specific experience: technical leadership of environmental impact assessment environmental study design and execution development of EMS leading auditing and compliance contributing to the design development and facilitation of Environmental Risk Assessment workshops and ENVIDs / HAZOPs.  For candidates with a Marine Science background wider responsibilities of the role would be technical leadership in a large marine and coastal science group in areas that could include environmental impact assessment marine survey design and execution water quality sedimentation habitat assessment and marine biosecurity depending on your specific experience.
 
Suitable candidates will have demonstrated experience in NOPSEMA related approvals understanding of the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Regulations 2009 and proven track record in building client relationships. Highly desirable is experience in consultancy and a demonstrated understanding of WA and Commonwealth environmental legislation. You will also ideally have a Degree in Environmental Science/Management/Engineering.
