MARINE POLICY ADVOCACY OFFICER (MATERNITY COVER)
Full-time. Salary circa £25,000 pa. May suit secondment.
Fixed-term maternity cover contract from a.s.a.p. to late 2013 (circa 4-5 months).
Location at bases in Edinburgh and Dunkeld.

The successful candidate will work closely with the LINK network’s marine project team to champion Marine Protected Areas and Scotland’s first National Marine Plan, particularly through upcoming policy consultations. They will have very good working knowledge of government, parliament and politics in Scotland, a strong grasp of key marine policy issues, and good understanding of wider environmental and policy contexts, Scotland’s institutions and legal framework. Strong analytical and planning skills, authoritative and confident communications and a track record in policy development and successful advocacy are vital.
This LINK contract is funded mainly by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and Tubney Charitable Trust.
