Location: Oxfordshire
We are offering an opportunity to be part of a passionate, dedicated and driven team of staff and volunteers working to raise vital funds for the RSPB, the largest wildlife conservation charity in Europe.
As Membership Development Officer you will recruit new members by discussing the work of the RSPB with members of the public in an enthusiastic, passionate and persuasive way. You will attend a variety of sites such as city centres, county shows, country parks, farmers markets, summer shows, food fairs, music festivals and other popular attractions. Our membership team is target driven and you will be responsible for meeting your own recruitment targets.
We are looking for someone who is extremely enthusiastic, outgoing and self-motivated. You will need to be able to think on your feet and communicate with a variety of personalities and interests to guide conversations towards RSPB membership. There is no need to be an expert on wildlife but having a passion and basic knowledge would be an advantage.
By joining our growing and successful team you will receive full and continued training necessary for the role, including learning about current campaigns such as Saving Nature, Connecting Children and Nature, Marine bills and international projects. You will also learn about local nature reserves and regional conservation priorities. You will receive a competitive pay package, a small van to travel to your recruitment days and the required display equipment.
You will need to be able to load and unload large and bulky displays and to work outside of normal office hours, including regular weekend work.
Being part of our team will mean you are making a difference to nature & people every day.
