Health Facilities Support Manager

Concern Worldwide Uganda is recruiting for various positions for the USAID- funded PL 480 Title II Development Food Aid programme called “Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture and Nutrition RWANU”) in Karamoja to be implemented from August 2012 through July, 2017. RWANU will focus on two strategic objectives to reduce food insecurity among vulnerable rural populations in selected sub -counties in 4 districts of Karamoja: (1) Improved availability and access to food and (2) reduced malnutrition in pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five. All positions will be based in Karamoja.
Health Facilities Support Manager.
  • will be responsible for managing all health facility support components of RWANU. Specifically S/he will liaise and work with District Health Teams and health facility personnel to ensure quality provision of a range of services to pregnant and lactating women and children under five. S/he will provide technical support and capacity building to clinical personnel at health centres.

Requirement:

  • Registered General Nurse/Midwife or Clinician to degree level.
  • Experience in health service delivery/management preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience working in and managing health related projects in a challenging environment; previous experience with NGO/INGO preferred.
  • Experience of working in partnership with district local government is essential.
  • In addition to strong technical capacity, s/he will have excellent personnel management skills, leadership qualities, mediation and facilitation skills.
