Enforcement Analyst/Caseworker


£24,300 - £28,150 p.a. (dependent on skills and expertise) - Band BLondon SW1
£22,100 - £25,959 p.a. (dependent on skills and expertise) - Band BGlasgow
Specific Minimum Qualifications and Expertise
  • Graduate, or equivalent skills from relevant experience
  • Excellent written skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to analyse information and documents
  • Ability to deliver projects within inter-departmental teams
  • Good communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
  • Legal, financial analysis and/or economic analysis skills would be an advantage
  • Experience of working on cases would be an advantage
Purpose
  • To assist in conducting complex investigations and enforcement casework the energy sector
  • To assist in the development of enforcement and competition policy in the energy sector
Key Outputs and Deliverables
  • Reviewing evidence and policy documents to make recommendations in relation to enforcement, competition, and consumer protection cases/policy issues
  • Drafting case papers or policy documents to a high standard
  • Assisting in the project management of enforcement casework
  • Updating key project documents as required
  • Supervision of support staff (e.g. paralegals) where necessary
  • Attending and minuting meetings
  • Ensuring proper filing of case papers and correspondence
Key Stakeholder Relationships
  • Build effective relationships with lawyers, economists and policy staff in Ofgem
  • Maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., energy companies and consumer groups), as relevant
Key Accountabilities
  • Responsibility for timely delivery of specific projects.
