Sr Procurement Manager American Express - Argentina


Our Global Procurement team will be hiring a Sr. Manager who will be responsible for leading the Supply Management Operations based in Argentina, to support strategically goods and services acquisitions for the region.
The GSM group is accountable for supporting cost effective procurement/contracting of products and services while achieving or exceeding customer and business requirements. Responsibilities include procurement activities for several commodities, supporting customers of all major business units across a broad geographic area, on a national and worldwide basis. .
The GSM key activities are: Implement the organization’s strategic and tactical plans while driving action across functions, business units and the Blue Box. GSM Acts as a key cost and business management resource to the procurement organization, customer organization, and senior management across multiple functions, divisions and geographic locations. . In GSM our leadership style is Leads by example to motivate cross-functional team members to achieve team objectives in supplier/market analysis, utilizing unique procurement practices/tools to capitalize on business.  
Some responsibilities will include:  
• Provide management direction in the form of broad objectives and specific task assignments. The positions require strong administrative skills with heavy emphasis on detail and follow up. The incumbent must demonstrate good judgment and decision making abilities to identify customer/company needs, identify inefficiencies, opportunities and to develop well reasoned proposals concerning the management of various commodities and processes.-Demonstrates strong knowledge and experience of analysis techniques, activity based costing methodology, project management, and business management. .
• Accountability to prepare analysis and plans for negotiations leads or participates in the negotiations involving critical, sensitive suppliers and/or customers. .
• Supports and manages purchase order commitments and contracts with financial accountability .
• Supports the implementation process of initiatives to ensure quality products, services and processes supported by quality performance metrics. .
• Implements department technical/business direction with other national and global procurement/contracts professionals on market analysis, supplier evaluation and selection, and the specific implementation plan of strategies to ensure global procurement/contracts accurately support business objectives.
 

Desired Skills & Experience

Requirements:

• 2 + years in Procurement experience. Administration, Engineering or Accounting is mandatory. Medium-high level of English is required. .
• Specific knowledge of
o RFP, RFI, RFQ Development, Implementation and Closing
o Benchmarking
o Reverse auction
o Spend management and Analysis
o E- procurement ( Such as SAP, BAAN, PS, Oracle, Ariba, e-IBM, @HP among others)
o Procurement Competitive Intelligence
o CBA – and Procurement SPOA methodology (or similar)
o Cost Build-up
o Supplier Risk assessment
o Strategic Outsourcing (Procurement Due Diligence and Bid Implementation)
o Procurement of Software/Licensing/Intellectual Property/Design Specific Hardware
o Due Diligence process (Vendor Health Analysis) Dun and Bradstreet process (or similar) .

• Comprehensive knowledge of business principles such as purchasing, quality, materials logistics management, business/contract law, licensing, leasing, finance and accounting. .
• Frequent contacts with internal/external customers and other company representatives at all levels of management including senior management to negotiate complex business issues. Contacts require a balance of assertiveness, tact, and diplomacy. .
• Strong interpersonal, oral/presentation, computer, and writing skills are required to conduct daily activities. PC skills must include ability to use spreadsheet, database management and statistical applications.
