Expeditor


This individual will perform expediting processes toward the delivery and final completion of purchases from vendors for services, goods, equipment, and documentation on a timely basis. Completion requirements would be as established by the criteria and parameters of a given contract and/or as further deemed critical by the Expediting Manager.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary expeditor of goods and services for all assigned projects.

• Apply expediting strategies and principles in support of established project schedules with emphasis toward "On Time Delivery."

• Generate, maintain and post project expediting progress and status reports.

• Record and maintain expediting information in existing purchasing systems as applicable to specific purchase orders and vendors.

• Adjust expediting focus on critical path activities as identified by the project management team and/or as variances to 'On Time Delivery' become evident.

• Serve as the primary point of contact to establish and communicate the required execution of daily "Capital" related equipment warehouse processing activities.

• Verify vendor supplied packing lists are accurate and distributed to the appropriate personnel/disciplines or entities. *** Secondary responsibility -shared at all levels of the Expediting group.

• Vendor Document Requirements (VDR) collections and tracking as identified within specific purchase orders, and as requested for various project Inspection Test Plans, Process Surveillance Plans or as otherwise assigned by the Expediting Manager.

• Adhere to department policy, procedures and directives regarding expediting activities and assignments.

Required Skills

• Business or technical degree required or equivalent combination of work experience and education as follows:
• Minimum 6 years in Expediting, Procurement, Project Management or Bachelor's degree +3
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Applications...MS Project or Primavera a plus
• Must effectively set priorities, plan, organize and work under pressure with minimal supervision
• Effective written and verbal communication skills essential
• Work with suppliers to resolve schedule discrepancies and implementation of recovery actions.
• Will interface across several disciplines and must work cohesively in a team environment.
• Ability to foster excellent working relations (internal and external) to achieve a common goal
• Professional representation of the team and company at all times

Environment: Will work primarily from the FLS/Midvale offices. Visits to supplier sites (domestic and international) as order execution dictates. Offsite conduct of business or training at intercompany offices may be required.
