As the Global Oils Product & Process Development (PPD) Team Lead, you are responsible for managing the day-today activities of the Global PPD organization. You ensure that the Global PPD projects are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets through the demonstration of project management capabilities. As a people manager, you will have the end responsibility of leading and developing a diverse, high performing team to meet the innovation targets of the global Cargill Oil & Fats product line.

Major Tasks

Talent Leader: People Management, engagement and alignment 
  • Lead a high performing team of Global PPD scientists and laboratory resources needed to meet NPSS and HPI innovation targets
  • Manage the performance and development of employees with direct and indirect reporting lines
  • Connect and work in close collaboration with other global technology colleagues, as well as personnel from other functional areas such as the plant operation, supply chain, and commercial teams
  • Responsible to ensure close alignment of the scientific resources with the PPD Engineering Team to facilitate and accelerate the execution of overall Global PPD project deliverables
  • Provide strategic input
Business Partner: Planning & Project managements
  • Responsible for the successful completion of selected projects within Global PPD portfolio, according to agreed timeframes
  • Provide both tactical recommendations and strategic insights to project teams to accelerate project timelines or remove barriers
  • Implement project management systems within Global PPD team to ensure high standards (e.g. use of charters, gate review reports, realistic budgets, documentation filing and data management) in alignment with Cargill PPM, PDP and TJF frameworks
  • Act as the Project Lead for certain high value creation projects within the Global PPD project portfolio
Business Partner: Systems management & reporting 
  • Lead the process for the creation of the PPD AOP (Annual Operating Plan) in line with Global Product Line AOP to establish the right priorities and to create maximum value
  • Responsible for the Global PPD annual operating budget
  • Accountable for timely invoicing of work for third parties, reporting of project related and group expenses, subsidies on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Provide effective verbal and written communication regarding project status and quarterly activity summaries to key global stakeholders

Qualifications

 
  • University degree in (Bio) Chemical Engineering or (Food) Chemistry
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience of a technical organization
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively building and managing relationships with Operations, Product Management, Application and Research
  • Experience in managing product development projects or technical construction projects
  • Demonstrated effective project management skills
  • Ability to give effective business oriented technical presentations at customers and internally
  • Good “customer service“ skills
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Proficient in using modern computer tools
  • Proficient in English
  • Infrequent Travel requirement upon need; customer / supplier visits, representative activities
  • Flexibility in working hours
