Human Resources Advisor, Belgium/Netherlands


Location: Vilvoorde & Rotterdam (1 day/week)
FT/PT status: Full time
Reporting to: Human Resources Director Belgium, Netherlands, Nordics & Baltics

Human Resources Advisor, Belgium/Netherlands

Role purpose:
Within an international environment, you will be responsible for delivering HR services to a client group of appr. 100 employees. Your main focus will be compensation & benefits, payroll, legal and HR administration. Depending on your interests, you may also be involved in other HR activities.
Principal Accountabilities:
  • You manage the payroll process in both Belgium and the Netherlands, working directly with our external payroll partners and the Finance department
  • You liaise with our external experts in both Belgium and the Netherlands regarding legal and tax matters, including expatriates, split pay, special tax status, ...
  • You liaise with pension and insurance companies in both Belgium and the Netherlands in collaboration with an external broker
  • You are a trusted advisor for employment law matters in both Belgium and the Netherlands, you follow changes in compensation and employment law and propose actions if needed
  • You prepare works council meetings in both Belgium and the Netherlands supported by the Prevention Advisor and the Office Management Team
  • You are responsible for on-boarding of new employees, liaising directly with the various stakeholders within the company
  • You manage all HR administration (e.g. employment contracts, new hire and exit documentation, HRIS updates, leave of absence, personnel regulations, insurance registrations, ...)
  • You are responsible for employee communication in your area of expertise
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with proven experience in Belgian and Dutch payroll
  • Sound knowledge of Belgian and Dutch employment legislation and tax regulations
  • Experience with compensation & benefits in an international organization
  • Thorough knowledge of human resources policies and procedures
Additional requirements
  • Native Dutch, with excellent command of English and good French
  • Advanced software skills
  • Integer personality and customer orientation. Discrete, proactive and precise.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, with employees at all levels in the organisation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates good judgment.
  • Results-oriented
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team
  • Familiar with working in an international matrix environment
