| Major/Essential Duties of Job | Provides leadership for an effective educational program that supports the food and fiber industry, agriculture, and natural resources. Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating an effective outcome-based program that supports identified issues in Fisher County; responsible for effectively reporting, marketing, and interpreting results of programming efforts. Develops and works with stakeholder-based committees that provide direction for Extension programs supporting agriculture and natural resources. Works with agribusiness and community-based organizations to effectively link Extension and agriculture to the community. Understands job responsibilities of a county Extension agent and accepts the responsibilities associated with the position. |
| Occasional Duties | Works under the direct supervision of the District Extension Administrator. Responsible for working cooperatively with other county Extension faculty. |
| Required Education: | Master's Degree required. Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree will be considered contingent upon their agreement to complete a Master's Degree from an accredited university within eight years of employment with Texas AgriLife Extension Service. Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree must have a four-year grade point average of 2.5 based on a 4.0 system, or 3.0 on a 4.0 system for the last 2 years (approximately 60 hours) of college work. |

| Comments to Applicants | This is a professional Extension position for individuals interested in a career in strengthening educational program leadership in the area of agriculture and natural resources. The applicant must exhibit a willingness to develop and/or enhance required competencies as experience and job knowledge is acquired. (Required competencies are outlined at http://countyprograms.tamu.edu/comp.htm). Entry level compensation for Master's degree $35,000. (Bachelor's degree $31,000). Starting salary enhanced with Base Plus Program. With successful job performance, agents receive salary increases when professional plus Extension experience reach 6, 12 and 24 month levels. Increases total $3,900. Applications will be accepted immediately and until the position has been filled. Texas law requires that males 18 through 25 show proof of compliance with federal Selective Service law in order to be eligible for employment. Employment is contingent upon the agency's verification of credentials and/or other information required by agency procedures, including the completion of a criminal history check. Finalists may be required to furnish a copy of official transcript documenting degree conferred. Must be willing to reside in Fisher County.
