Department
The BBC Sport team is responsible for coverage of live sport events including the Olympics, Wimbledon, 6 Nations Rugby, London Marathon, Open Golf Championships and produces flagship BBC One TV Programmes such as Match of the Day and Sports Personality of the Year, and continuous output throughout the year including Sports News inserts for BBC News Channel and BBC World, Radio Sport across the whole of BBC radio including 5 Live and 5 Live Sport Extra, and the BBC Sport website. Currently the department is busy preparing for the World Athletics Championships and Women’s Euros this summer, and looking forward to excitement packed 2014 with the Winter Olympics in Sochi, World Cup in Brazil, and Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
Role
As Events and Internal Communications Manager, you will Support BBC Sport’s running of events and internal communications, agreeing the key messages to be communicated within the Sport department and, where relevant, across the wider BBC. You will Support the Chief Adviser in BBC Sport with all internal communications and manager the preparation for, and running of, various staff briefing sessions and internal events. You will develop, maintain and implement an internal communications strategy for BBC Sport and manage the on-site BBC Sport communications and branding. You will also be responsible for the Co-ordination and management of BBC Sport’s staff recognition scheme ‘Celebrating Success’ and content management and updating of BBC Sport’s Gateway/web pages
Requirements
With experience of planning and running internal/external events – efficiently, creatively and collaboratively, you will also have experience of managing or supporting internal communications for a large and diverse organisation. With demonstrable communication skills you are able to build and maintain effective working relationships within a complex working environment and have the ability to engage with professional and creative individuals.
