CONSULTANT - ENVIRONMENT & NATURE POLICY (M/V) ANTWERP

Your function

  • You form part of a multidisciplinary team specialising in policy support for among other things environment, nature, spatial planning, water management, mobility and energy.
  • You provide input for projects on the basis of your environmental background, taking into account our vision for sustainable development, to support high-quality decision making. You work on among other things drawing up appropriate conclusions and carrying out studies for maintenance objectives and Environmental Impact Statements, dealing with both the project content and the process aspects. You formulate clear conclusions for the purposes of policy and decision making.
  • You have contact with our customers and are able in the longer term to provide leadership with project content, organisation and finance.
  • You keep abreast with new developments in your specialist area, and share this knowledge with your colleagues.
  • You are based in Antwerp, but occasionally work in our Hasselt site.

Profile

  • You have a degree in a subject relevant to the job: master’s in bio-engineering sciences (land & forestry management) or master’s in biology.
  • You preferably have several years of experience in study work for policy support in the field of nature, ecology and environment, in Flanders or elsewhere.
  • You are familiar with nature policy and assessment of environmental impacts.
  • You have excellent written and spoken communication skills, both within the team and in relations with customers.
  • You are strongly analytical in your thought processes; you are also strongly independent and have wide general interests.
  • You have a commercial, results-oriented approach.
  • You are able to work both independently and in teams (of varying composition).
  • You are eager to learn, creative and flexible.
  • You have excellent Dutch and good knowledge of French and English.
