Position Summary
Works with Research and Product Engineering to develop new technology, perform calculations, analysis and verification activities, to insure FLS product offerings are world class.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1.Pursue design goals with limited direction and guidance, using initiative, judgment, and good decision making to arrive at acceptable designs.
2.Formulate design concepts of a specific problem area for submittal to a lead engineer or design committee for further evaluation and suggestion
3.Expand initial design concepts into economical and practical finished products
4.Perform engineering feasibility work to give direction to existing projects, identify critical design areas, and identify new improvement opportunities.
5.Provide technical assistance to product groups including field trouble shooting services
6.Develop major product improvements and or new machines designs which will reduce capital cost, fuel or power consumption, or labor (maintenance ) from existing levels
7.Submit documented new ideas for improvements, new machines, and projects for Research and Development. Generate ideas and features for patent applications
8.Generate, write and present technical papers for publication based on technical reports concluding projects
Education & Experience Requirements
- B.S. degree Engineering, preferably mechanical engineering with 3+ year's experience
- Proven organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiar with application of 2D and 3D CAD tools
- Must be a team player and self motivated.
