Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in accounting or finance, or ability to practice as a certified professional accountant required
- Five to seven years of progressively responsible financial experience managing accounting and finance components of large donor-funded programs, particularly in transitional, Islamic, or post-conflict countries
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience, including direct supervision of a diverse team of professional accountants and financial management staff
- Experience setting up the accounting and finance functions for large USAID-funded projects
- Ability to manage grants under contract funds
- Familiarity with USAID project accounting requirements
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Willingness to live and work in Afghanistan
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in Dari or Pashto preferred
