Temporary Agent of Danish language (grade AST 1)


The assistant fulfils a supranational function within the EFD Parliamentary Group Secretariat, and assists all EFD Members of the European Parliament in the carrying
out of tasks which, within the context of organisation of the EFD Group, may involve:
attending and preparing notes on the business of parliamentary committee meeting, participation to the works of the Group concerning legislative procedures, amendments and voting lists, work requiring knowledge of varied secretarial techniques, including word processing and use of computer applications related to the needs of the service, electronic mail, consultation of data bases and the production of documents, secretarial work requiring judgement, method, discretion, order and team spirit.
These duties require a good knowledge of the functioning of the European Union institutions, of the political systems within the European Union and the EFD group.
The post of assistant in the Secretariat of the EFD Group requires great availability irregular working hours, flexibility, judgement, a methodical approach, discretion, adaptability to varying workloads, as well as the capacity for teamwork in an international environment. Suitable candidates must, amongst other things, be capable of grasping wide-ranging problems, be able to respond rapidly to changing circumstances and communicate effectively.
Candidates must have:
  •  a level of post secondary education attested by a diploma, as provided for in Article 5 of the Staff regulation;
  •  Knowledge of the institutional structure of the European Union and its activities as well as of the European Parliament;
  • Studies in European fields;
  •  Excellent Knowledge of the Danish language and knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge of Swedish and of other EU languages will be taken into consideration;
HOW TO APPLY
  • The application form must be duly completed in one of the following languages: English, OR French.

  • The candidate must fill in and sign the application form and enclose with it photocopies of supporting documents to show that he/she meets the special
conditions governing admission to the selection procedure (see heading III B.), to enable the Selection Board to verify the claims made on the application form. If the candidate fails to do so he/she can be disqualified. Each page of the photocopied supporting documents must be numbered. All the supporting documents enclosed with the application form must be listed on a contents page giving a description of each document and the corresponding page number(s). Candidates are kindly asked not to staple the documents.
  • Candidates whose qualifications and diplomas, with regard to point III.B.1., are in a language other than English or French are requested to attach a copy of a nonofficial translation in one of these languages.
