Manager Commercial Analysis

Job Purpose
  • This role is part of a team responsible for providing intelligent and fact based analyses of commercial activities in the area of passenger revenue generation, including identification of new opportunities and ways to mitigate impact of risk from competitor activities.
  • In this role, the Manager will be responsible for the Commercial Analysis activities, working in partnership with the Senior Commercial Planning Managers by defining best practices (related to analytical techniques, modeling and systems), data analysis, interpretation of intelligence and presentation to senior management and the global sales force.
  • This includes the analysis of industry and market trends, sales lead data and point of sales / channel / segment data.  The Manager is responsible for the timely reporting and analysis of the commercial KPI's which includes providing the analysis to enable stakeholders and the management with the Commercial Planning process.
  • The position holder will also support analysis for assigned Strategy & Planning and Commercial projects.

  • Ability to think strategically with the capability of handling multiple and complex situations simultaneously, taking in to consideration the diverse culture within the group
  • Possess strong analytical skills with proven ability to extract, manipulate, analyse and report data in order to enable informed business decisions
  • Experience of stakeholder management at a senior level within the organisation
  • Utilise available tools, market intelligence, economic data and internal reporting to measure, report monthly and advise on market activity, market performance and route performance
Responsibilities
  • Analyse core business issues across geographic region and recommend remedial action to optimise performance
  • Make inputs toward measuring the benefits of any commercial initiatives that have been implemented in the business
  • Undertake ad-hoc and detailed analyses to support various commercial projects as dictated by the business
  • Source & manipulate market and internal data to support the analytical activities
  • Support the development of internal tools to enhance the ability to quickly and accurately perform analyses
  • Maintain consistently high level of timely and accurate outputs for all reports and analysis produced
  • Promote and share analytical best practice across the business
RequirementsQualification & Education:
  • Bachelors’ degree, preferably in one of Statistics, Mathematics or Economics.
Experience:
  • Previous experience of at least 4 years, undertaking analytical projects and a proven track record of success in influencing a wide circle of stakeholders to undertake actions leading to positive performance improvement will augment the job holder’s skills portfolio.
  • Project management experience is desirable.
  • Airline experience is desirable.
Training & Knowledge:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in the use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook are essential
  • Experience in data mining and use of Business Objects / MS Access / SPSS is an advantage.
