University of St Andrews -English Language Teaching
English Language Teaching, incorporating the Centre for International Foundation Programmes, offers a wide range of programmes for international students, ranging from year-long foundation ‘pathway’ programmes, through pre-Masters, pre-sessionals, to teacher training courses and summer schools. We are proactive in international student recruitment and work collaboratively with the University’s Admissions & Recruitment team to ensure a joined-up approach to international marketing.
We would like to appoint a dynamic, motivated individual with a background in marketing or international student recruitment or a related field to manage the marketing of our programmes, including the implementation of a departmental marketing strategy, coordination of our departmental recruitment and admissions operations and management of our dedicated admin team.
You will be able to work independently, and your strong presentational and communication skills will enable you to represent the department’s activities, and those of the wider University, to both internal and external audiences. Your knowledge of UK HE will help in your interactions with students and institutions, and your strong technical and organizational skills will enable you to produce evidence-based market analysis. Confident, sociable and a good team player, you will enjoy working in a multicultural environment in a multi-faceted role.
Purpose: In liaison with the Director and members of the recruitment team, you will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of the marketing strategy including the development of an e-marketing strategy. The role encompasses many aspects of the departmental student recruitment process including
• production of marketing materials
• attendance at events in the UK and overseas
• responding to enquiries and converting applicants to entrants
• ensuring that applications and admissions processes run smoothly
• providing professional advice to prospective students and their sponsors
Responsible to: Director, English Language Teaching
Contract: Full time, standard contract
Hours: Normally 36.25 hours between the hours of 8.45am and 5pm,
Monday to Friday.
Applicants should have a marketing background with experience of working in an international environment including liaison with overseas partners; and ideally be familiar with both UK HE and international education systems; excellent presentational, interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in oral and written English; high levels of computer literacy; strong organizational skills and evidence of ability to project manage, act independently and meet deadlines.
