We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
  • Provide leadership, overall program direction, and sound technical expertise to ensure success in assisting the Ethiopian government to confront challenges surrounding improved land certification and administration
  • Serve as the project's principal liaison with DFID staff, local institutions, and client partners to exchange information and develop professional relationships
  • Play a lead role in interacting with Ethiopian government counterparts, donors, and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure that the overall program direction is well managed and communicated to team members, the client, and external constituents

Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in land management, law, economics, public policy, or a related field required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing DFID or other donor-funded projects
  • Experience as a chief of party or team leader preferred
  • Experience implementing large-scale projects related to land titling administration, economic growth issues related to land, and the private sector in Africa
  • Experience with market systems, including Making Markets Work for the Poor methodologies
  • Experience using GIS and other technologies to map and register land parcels
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of the local government, stakeholders, and counterparts and effectively build and manage relationships
