Pricing Manager

Job Purpose
  • Gauge, assess and drive Pricing and Distribution strategies that are pragmatic and effective from a local area of sale perspective, but at the same time falls within the network revenue management guiding parameters.
  • Build, manage and administer mid and long-term strategies using local and hands-on knowledge of these markets.
ResponsibilitiesPricing:
  • Implement successful pricing (fares and rules) strategy across O+Ds
  • Maintain integrity of pricing structure (on/offline, including fare families and branded fares)
  • Maintain a regularly updated pricing benchmark sheet(s), with relevant competitor data
  • Utilise pricing and systems tools (QL2, Market Share Data, Load factor, Route Performance)
  • Responsible and accountable for sanction approvals submitted by Sales
  • Performance tracking of pricing initiatives are reviewed and acted upon, where required
  • Effective monitoring and timely response to competitor pricing activity
  • Establish structured and launch pricing for new routes within agreed timelines
Distribution:
  • Ensure correct filing has taken within agreed SLA and speed to market
  • Ensure pricing and rules are correctly displayed via appropriate distributiuon channels
Communication:
  • Provide CRM with relevant detail of pricing activities, issues and opportunities
  • Communicate pricing changes and performance to relevant stakeholders
  • Engage and manage RevMan interaction with Sales to ensure optimal pricing position
  • Engage Demand and Inventory to investigate, correct or initiate pricing/demand adjustments
Management:
  • Support technical, commercial and personal development of Pricing Analysts
RequirementsQualifications and Education:
  • University post-graduate
Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years required in the airline industry with basic qualification in tariff and ticketing disciplines.
  • 4-5 years data and business analysis & report production, ideally in commercial and sales environment.
Training:
  • Recognized IATA or Airline Advanced Passenger and Pricing Course.
  • Knowledge:
  • Superior analytical skills, both numeric and commercial and an excellent command of the English language
  • Must have knowledge of fare construction and GDS distribution.
  • Must be computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc/knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Report writing and presentation skills
  • High familiarity with GDS, MIDT, management accounting reports, etc
