The Process Application Data group with the Chevron Information Technology Company provides Business Intelligence solutions to the different Operating Companies and Business Units within the enterprise. This position is with the Business Analytics Organization within the Data Assets and Analytics group.
The person in this position will have primary responsibility for the design and architecting of the ETL & Storage solutions for varying projects, maximizing reuse of existing solution components, insuring compliance with established architectural standards, and providing correct functionality. These solutions must reflect an enterprise-wide, strategic view and ensure that the solution fits with established reference architectures.
The role will initially be focused on delivery to Upstream business partners needs, but may move into other areas in the future. As we are functionally aligned this role must be able to work closely with other Business Analytic teams, i.e. BI Consulting (customer facing), BI Development (technical design and build), & BI Support (production support).

Position Details: | Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Business:
Translates (higher complexity) user requirements to process and data requirements.
Understand and document business definitions of data.
Engages with business to generate alternatives, then evaluates available alternatives and presents to the business.
Field questions concerning the data content, definition and structure.
Initial scoping and depth of projects
Design Architect:
Engagement with vendor's ERP product development to understand vendor's direction and determine impacts of upcoming functionality.
Evaluating and recommending future BW architecture and providing strategic planning for data management.
Stays up to date on changing, module/function knowledge. Stays abreast of the business requirements (e.g. tax, government and/or changing business requirements).
Facilitating or completing analysis, design and programming of viable solutions to high-complexity business problems, ensuring all business requirements are met.
Developing or approving detailed program specifications and complying with project management methodology requirements.
Develop the data model and assure integration of data from both SAP and non-SAP sources.
Perform impact analysis of data change requirements.
Responsible for governance & that standard design is adhered to, including Technical or functional design reviews.
Experience dealing with large volume of complex data.
Advanced design and troubleshooting responsibilities.
Team / Other Team:
Providing leadership within the Enterprise data warehouse space to complete root-cause analysis, design solutions, write code, perform testing, provide documentation, and implement large/multiple development projects.
Requires strong technical leadership and the ability to Coach/Mentor less experience technical team members. •
Ability to work with both employees and contractors across several geographies.
Approvals for change requests, design changes (ensure change management process is followed).
Work with release management process to ensure changes are implemented timely
Manages resolution of problems and escalates as required.
Manages work priorities and deliverables, lowers total cost of ownership, obtains necessary resources, partners with customers and product managers to understand demand and priorities.
Ensures appropriate use of CPDEP, Decision Analysis, Reinforcement Based Leadership, and Total Quality Management across all boundaries.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Sciences, or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years work experience within SAP Business Warehouse is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Oil & Gas Domain Experience is desired, though not required
Strong Familiarity with Chevron Global Upstream design.
Design, build, test, and implement newly created or modified structures (cubes, extractors, ODS, ADP, etc) to address system / design requirements. This includes a solid working knowledge for SAP R3.
Excellent partnering and written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of SAP Business Warehouse front and backend tools.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of experience within SAP Oil & Gas implementations.
