Applications are invited for a skilled and motivated Bioinformatician with an interest in human genetics to join the West Midlands Regional Genetics Laboratory (WMRGL).
You will provide bioinformatics support to scientists engaged in the provision of genetics services as well as in research projects, working closely with staff across the department and at the University of Birmingham. You will be responsible for the development, testing, validation and implementation of analytical pipelines required to analyse genomic data (including next generation sequencing, microarray, and other emerging technologies) for a broad range of clinical diagnostic and research applications, including whole exome and whole genome analysis.
You will also play a significant role in the validation of bioinformatic tools to assist in the interpretation of genetic variants as well as in bioinformatics training for staff across the department.
