Guangdong University of Foreign Studies is a prestigious university in Southern China that specializes in business management and international studies. The School of International Trade and Economics (SITE) was formed and developed on the basis of Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade, which was founded in 1980 -- one of the four institutions of its kind under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (now Ministry of Commerce).
The School of International Trade and Economics consists of these departments: International Trade and Economics, International Finance, Economics, Insurance. We invite applications from qualified and experienced university teachers to produce research outputs and teach in the following fields:

The remuneration package includes:
  • On-campus apartment

Salary scales in RMB per month:
  • YUNSHAN Scholars/Distinguished/Eminent Professor 18,000 – 30,000
  • Professor 10,000 – 20,000
  • Associate Professor 10,000 – 14,000
  • Senior Lecturer 8,000 – 12,000
  • Lecturer 5,000 – 8,000.
1) Salary
In order to attract more experienced and highly professional foreign experts to teach on GDUFS campus, the University made some new policies to substantially increase the available salary for these experts. Therefore, the University is now able to provide up-to RMB20, 000 of monthly salary to world-wide famous Professors that can be active participants in teaching and research in their specific field.
2) International Travel Subsidy
Besides a monthly salary, the University shall pay each foreign teacher a certain amount of international travel subsidy to basically cover a round trip (for 1-year contract) or a single trip (for a half-year contract) from abroad to Guangzhou. This subsidy will be divided into several parts based on the length of each teacher's contract and paid monthly by the University together with the teacher's monthly salary as a whole.

Introduction about Guangzhou, China

Guangzhou, a capital city, is the largest and most prosperous trading city in southern China, with the Baiyun Hill in the north and the Zhujiang (Pearl River) Delta Plain in front. The city is 125 kilometers northwest of Hong Kong on the Pearl River.
Guangzhou is one of the 24 cities which are the first to have been announced as famous cities of historic and cultural interest in China. The history of 2,200 years has left behind many places of historic interest and scenic beauty. They are vivid witness of past brilliance of Guangzhou. The climate of Guangzhou is sub-tropical. The average year-round temperature is 22C. August is the hottest month, with an average temperature of 30C. January is the coldest month, with an average of 13C. The rainy season falls between April and August. Average annual rainfall is 1,720 mm.
“Eating in Guangzhou” has become a popular saying both at home and abroad. Guangzhou ranks first in the number of restaurants and tea-houses in the country. Cantonese cuisine is good in color, fragrance, taste and presentation. In addition, the delicate Cantonese pastry is also well-known for its wide range of varieties, delicious flavor and beautiful color. Cantonese cuisine is among the most famous four in the country.
