Programme Coordinator Health (m/f), Pakistan

The German Red Cross (GRC) is part of a worldwide community assisting victims of conflicts and disasters and people affected by social or health related crises. The Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement provides vulnerable people with assistance without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the Movement: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality. The German Red Cross assists in disaster response, rehabilitation and capacity building projects interna-tionally on appeals of their sister organisations within the Movement.
For the coordination and supervision of project management for its health projects in Pakistan, GRC is currently seeking a Programme Coordinator Health.
GRC is supporting the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) since 1983 with a strong focus on health issues (Primary Health Care, WatSan, CBHFA, Blood Banks, etc.) among others. Currently, GRC is implementing and planning various rehabilitation and development projects in Khyber Pakthunkwa (KP), Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab (Lahore) and Sindh Provinces in close cooperation with PRCS.
Duration: starting as soon as possible for 9 months
Location: based in Islamabad with frequent travels to project regions
Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Support Project Managers of health projects in proposal writing for rehabilitation and development-oriented health projects (Primary Health Care, CBHFA, Blood Bank) • Support Project Managers of health projects in timely narrative and financial reporting as per donor requirements • Support Project Managers of health projects in the development and implementation of M&E (including financial monitoring) systems • Training and guidance to project staff in relevant fields • Liaise with PRCS Branches as well as with relevant stakeholders, i.e. Red Cross/ Red Crescent Movement, International Organisations and NGOs, local authorities and communities in close cooperation with Project Managers • Acting as nexus between Project Managers, Programme Coordinators and Country Office Islamabad, i.e. Head of Office • Regular visits to project sites
Required Skills:
• At least 5 years working experience in community-based Health Projects is essential; knowledge about WASH is an asset • Proven experience and skills in proposal writing, management and reporting of donor-funded projects (e.g. ECHO, DIPECHO, BMZ, AA) • Profound knowledge and proven experience in M&E • University degree related to Health • Ability to train and guide local staff and community volunteers (e.g. project planning, M&E)
• Readiness to work in remote areas • Ability to work, live and travel in an insecure environment, following our strict security guidelines at all times • Ability to work independently and as a team member • Ability and agreement to adhere to the Red Cross Red Crescent Fundamental Principles • Readiness to go on assignment without partner / no family posting • Oral and written fluency in English, German would be an asset • Proven ability to work effectively in multi cultural environments • Excellent physical and mental health with the ability to complete a thorough medical screening process
