Consultant Training for Pakistan Communities In Transition

 Position Summary 
 
 
The Consultant will provide backstopping support to the USAID-funded Training for Pakistan (TFP) Program. TFP is a participant training activity focusing on 5 sectors: agriculture/economic development, democracy and governance, education, health, and stabilization. In addition to supporting the ongoing activities of FTP, the Consultant will be required to participate in proposal development. TFP is housed in the Political Transitions Team of the Communities in Transition Division (CIT).
 
 
 Reporting & Supervision 
 
 
The Consultant reports to the Headquarters-based Project Director.
 
 
 Primary Responsibilities 
 
 
  • Provides backstopping support to a demanding project in Pakistan.
  • Works with the project’s field team to support logistics and project administration.
  • Supports the field team in responding to training requests.
  • Processes staff and consultant travel including logistics, orientation, insurance, expense reporting, and tracks related activity.
  • Reviews and processes project-related invoices, ensuring transactions are properly documented and files organized.
  • Supports expatriate personnel in the field with orientation, benefits and allowances (i.e., shipping, housing, banking, etc.).
  • Supports the production, timely delivery, and archiving of contract deliverables including letters, reports, project materials (i.e., success stories) and press releases.
  • Manages and updates the program website.
  • Works with Program Associate and Technical Manager to conduct structured monthly reviews of project field financial records and support monthly vouchering/invoicing process.
  • Creates and maintains well-organized and current electronic and hardcopy project files.
  • Conducts supplementary research in support of project activities.
  • Coordinate with the program partners and the Client in a timely and responsive manner to respond to the tasks and responsibilities listed above.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Solid organizational and administrative skills.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple supervisors.
  • Strong Web Development skills, specifically WordPress
 
 
 Desired Skills & Qualifications 
 
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, public administration or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience with USAID-sponsored programming; field experience a strong plus.
  • Prior experience in a project administrative support capacity.
  • Previous experience working on South Asia.
