The Role:
To take responsibility in managing process/facilities lead Studies for Greenfield or Brownfield Field Development Planning, Screening, Conceptual definition, pre-FEED, Plant optimisation/revamp and troubleshooting. A hands on approach will be required to technically manage the work and lead the development of the study, interfacing closely with our business development/development managers, subsurface, wells, cost estimating, asset and operations teams.  A proactive aptitude is essential, developing assumptions and solutions to address the uncertainties inherent with early phase developments.  Our Study Managers must be able to manage engineers and specialists from all disciplines, focusing and harnessing their efforts to ensure an integrated and consistent Study is completed within schedule. 
Due to the varied scope, complexity and nature of the work, Study Managers must be flexible and be able to successfully manage multiple studies of different durations.
We require Study Managers to be based in our Technical Centre in our Woking, Surrey offices.  Regular attendance will be required at our London office to attend meetings and reviews.  Frequent business travel to our other UK based and overseas assets and/or affiliate and subcontractor/project offices will also be required.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Management of studies as described above to the highest standards and within agreed budgets. Identifying resource requirements, management of day to day work.
  • Capable of managing/ directing engineers of all disciplines and specialist consultants and third parties.
  • Working closely with our business development/development managers, subsurface, wells, cost estimating, asset and operations teams.
  • Understanding and experience of capital cost estimates, both on a regional and plant level.  Taking responsibility to review and endorse the estimate to the development manager and assurance teams.
  • Understanding of construction requirements and the limitations that these could impose on option selection.
  • Preparation of reports and presentation of results relevant parties and senior management.
  • Taking full technical ownership of the work.
