We were recently awarded the Health Innovation Challenge Fund programme funded by DFID in Bangladesh. This exciting DFID programme includes a component on engaging directly with the non-state sector to deliver health outcomes. The fund will be used to stimulate innovative approaches, targeted to the poor, in a manner that could become scalable and replicable.
As a result, we are currently seeking a Project Manager to ensure cost effective, timely and specification compliant project delivery. The position is based in Bangladesh with occasional travel to Dubai. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Project Manager to work on a very interesting and innovative project. As Project Manager, you will also be responsible for positioning GRM for upcoming opportunities, networking with national and international organisations in Bangladesh, therefor it would be expected that fifty precent of your time will be spent on business development activities.
Reporting to the Regional Manager Middle East / North Africa / South Asia, principle responsibilities will require you to (but are not limited to) –
- Manage contracts for specific projects and consultancies
- Scope, plan, schedule, resource and cost
- Develop project budget and manage cash flow and forecasts
- Develop, maintain and review project management systems
- Monitor and anticipate/identify project performance issues and address
- Project administration in accordance with GRM requirements
- Identify opportunities for process/product improvement
- Identify opportunities for profit maximisation
- Work with business development/bid team to identify future business opportunities
- Liaise and build relationships with clients
The ideal candidate will prove the following competencies and expertise:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree; master’s degree (preferred)
- Total minimum of 7 years relevant work experience
- Minimum 3 years of DFID project management experience, including managing long and short term consultants, project start up & closeout, achieving milestones and interpreting project plans
- Minimum 2 years of people management experience, including setting clear performance objectives, managing for results, giving and receiving feedback, performance evaluation and mentoring and coaching consultants/employees
- At least two years experience in a developing country or similar environment
