Organisational Development Officers - Disaster Management

Cyclones, flash floods, landslides ... interested? Then help Fiji’s leading humanitarian organisation to strengthen disaster management plans and standard operating procedures for its branches around the country.
This is a volunteer assignment under the Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program, an Australian Government, AusAID initiative. Airfares, living allowances, accommodation, insurance and other support is provided through the program.
Fiji Red Cross works with communities vulnerable to floods, landslides and other natural disasters to implement long-term disaster risk reduction activities through its 15 branches located across the country.
Fiji Red Cross is working to strengthen branch capacity in disaster awareness, preparedness and response by placing strategic support staff at two divisions: Labasa in the north and Lautoka in the west.
Two AVID volunteers have been requested to support staff at theses divisions. Each volunteer will assist branches in their area with disaster management activities, volunteer recruitment and retention, organisational development and administration. The volunteers will also work with staff to revise standard operating procedures and disaster management plans for each branch.
How to apply:
To be eligible, applicants must be 18 years and over, Australian citizens or permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens with Special Category Visas.
