Background / General description:

IFC finances private sector investments, mobilizes capital in international financial markets, helps clients improve social and environmental sustainability, and provides advisory services to businesses and governments in the developing world.

IFC is looking to recruit an Investment Analyst to work within the Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services (MAS) department. Within MAS, the Analyst will focus on executing debt, equity, and hybrid investments in the Consumer Services space, which includes the following sub-sectors: Healthcare, Education, Life Sciences, Tourism, Retail and Property. In focusing on these sectors, the Analyst will work closely with Investment Officers in the origination, structuring, negotiation and subsequent supervision of a wide range of investments on behalf of IFC. This position will be based in Istanbul, Turkey.

Duties and Accountabilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



•Conducting company due diligence, analyzing historical financial statements, and creating detailed financial models to assess the viability and optimal structure of an IFC investment;

•Participating in all aspects of IFC’s transaction processing cycle from project development to disbursement, including the creation of internal investment committee presentations, company briefings, and project cycle documents

•Conducting industry, market, and company research, and supporting IFC’s business development efforts in the Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, and North Africa (EMENA) region;

•Reviewing company information and preparing periodic reports on financial statements and other information submitted by clients;

•Establishing and maintain quality client relationships to ensure responsiveness and to enhance new business opportunities;

•Participating in investment negotiations; and

•Participating in the monitoring and periodic assessment of investments in portfolio companies

Selection Criteria:
•Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree from a leading university, specialization in finance preferred;

•Experience at a top-tier financial institution for a minimum of 2 years, with extensive experience in creating detailed company financial models in the context of debt, equity and/or M&A transactions;

•Strong analytical and problem solving skills and sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions;

•Ability to work successfully in multicultural teams, across boundaries, and to travel frequently;

•Strong client orientation with an openness to feedback and new ideas;

•Ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines under pressure;

•Genuine interest in sustainable development and working in emerging markets

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. French and Russian language skills strongly preferred.
