Primary Purpose:
The Project Manager is responsible for advancing the study assessing the potential to optimize the combination of a large open pit with the underground mine for the Turquoise Ridge Joint Venture (TRJV) and consider processing options from pre-feasibility; through feasibility and into production.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for all aspects of the study phases of the project including:
o Resource estimationo Mine designo Metallurgical characterizationo Process selectiono Equipment specificationo Permittingo Community relations
- Develop the optimal business plan for the project by evaluating different options and maximize the project economics.
- Integrate the project with the existing TRJV operations.
- Ensure that financial, operational, and maintenance control systems are in place to support decision making.
- Be responsible for the detailed engineering, development of an effective maintenance strategy, project staffing, budgeting and to safely construct the project to the Barrick standard. [When project moves to construction]
Qualifications/Skills:
- B.S. in Mining/Civil/Metallurgical Engineering or in Geology. Graduate studies in business desired.
- Minimum 10 years experience in a senior level managerial position with general oversight of mining operations.
