Plutonic, Darlot & Lawlers Gold mines are underground operations located in the Yilgarn in WA, approximately 2.5 flight from Perth.
Position Objective:
Plutonic, Darlot & Lawlers Mine Sites are looking to employ Apprentice Heavy Diesel Fitters. In this fly in, fly out role you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of the surface and underground mobile equipment. You will be under the direct supervision of a qualified technician and will report directly to the Underground Maintenance Foreman.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend daily maintenance pre-shift meetings, fly in meeting & maintenance safety meeting
- Perform tasks as instructed by the Leading Hand Fitter
- Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness to comply with all relevant policies and procedures
- Ensure work is conducted in a safe manner and any issues are remedied and/or promptly reported to the Leading Hand Fitter
- Create work requests for any required work
- Ensure effective communication of work and issues/conditions status takes place with supervisor prior to departure from site
- Maintain a positive attitude and show respect towards other people
- Ensure that company assets, resources and consumables are utilised in a manner that minimises physical and financial loss
- Provide input for alternatives and improvements to current systems and methods
- Supply feedback on completed work to the Leading Hand Fitter
Experience and Certification Required:
- Completion of pre-apprenticeship training in a mechanical discipline – essential
- Keen interest in obtaining diesel fitter trade qualifications and experience, particularly on Sandvik mobile equipment.
- Year 12 High School Certificate - desirable
- Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence - essential
- St Johns Senior First Aid certificate – desirable
This position is fly in/fly out from Perth on an 8/6:7/7 roster.
Sites are located approximately 1000km north-east of Perth and provide on-site accommodation with recreational facilities including foxtel, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, gymnasium and sports oval. Telstra mobile and wireless broadband access is also available.
