Consultant - Learning and Development

Key Accountabilities:
Consulting with business clients on human capital performance requirements; conduct needs assessments and analyze learning needs.
  • Carry out on-job duty & task analysis
  • Carry out technical baseline learner assessments
Development of training methodologies and strategies
Design and source leading edge Training and Development facilities
  • Development of training asset specifications, equipment lists, quantity analysis and procurement methodologies
Design and develop training programmes incorporating blended learning solutions to introduce or increase employees’ job-related skills and knowledge
  • Provide detailed curriculum design for Engineering and Operations for Oil & Gas technicians (Up, mid and downstream) processes
  • Design of organisational structures and operating models
  • Recommendation of external accreditations and awarding bodies
  • Recommendations of HSEQ systems and procedures
Develop robust business cases for introduction of strategic L&D initiatives
  • Development of budgetary OPEX and CAPEX estimates
  • Financial modelling, cost benefit and sensitivity analysis
  • Support the sourcing and lead the team of people delivering the needs analysis and L&D solution development
  • Manage overall stakeholder relationship development plan (including assignment of people to manage key stakeholder relationships and implement relationship development actions).
  • Provide overall project management of the needs analysis and L&D solution development
  • Writing and structuring professional reports and appendices
  • Developing and delivering client presentations
  • Management of client / team meetings
  • Monthly report writing and overall project planning
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Pro-actively support the creation of a knowledge management system including development of best practise methodology for needs analysis
  • Pro-actively support strategic initiatives within the business
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the Petrofac Group Business Development Managers so that the Petrofac position in relation to the customer is known and understood.
  • Incorporate knowledge of industry trends and best practices in performance of job responsibilities. 
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Learning & Development experience greater than 10 years industrial experience in an Energy related sector (Oil & Gas / Chemicals / Petrochemicals industry or similar related industrial environment)
  • Discipline specific Technical Qualification – Level 4 qualification of higher award – Higher National Certificate (HNC) or BEng / MEng Degree in relevant technical subject or internationally recognised equivalent qualification
  • Experience in the delivery of Engineering or Operations  Competence Based Vocational Training and Development
  • Experience in the use of competence assurance based systems and procedures
  • TDLB D32 and or D33, or A1/A2 Assessor Award
  • TDLB D34 or V1 Internal Verifier Award
