Department
BBC Finance has a key role to play in enabling the BBC to achieve its strategic objectives by supporting performance management, governance/risk management and decision making. The finance staff in the divisions will act as business partners to the operational managers and BBC staff locally. Their role will be one of stewardship to ensure good governance and financial control over investment and spend in the Division. They provide decision support to achieve the delivery of the BBC’s and the division’s objectives, working closely with the Finance Centre.
Role

Reporting to the Factual Production Finance Partner (FP), you will play a pivotal role in gathering and analysing results on a pan Factual Production basis, considering all aspects of the wider business and the corporate landscape. You will produce, analyse and interpret monthly financial performance reports for divisional management (working in conjunction with the Finance Centre), adding business/division specific insights to support reporting and decision making. You will assist with undertaking financial review and performance management of the division, and identify any variances/ discrepancies, working closely with Finance Director. You’ll also work to support the Finance Director and Finance Partners in delivering to the budget. Alongside this, you’ll build and develop effective working relationships with business unit staff and other users, particularly finance colleagues in the Finance Centre.
Requirements
You will have broad management accounting experience along with well developed analytical and technical financial skills. You’ll be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/equivalent qualification) or qualified by experience, with developed judgment and the ability to act a source of expertise and advice to others. You’ll also have highly developed IT skills to include ability to operate/ provide user assistance on computer based financial management systems (preferably SAP). Alongside this, you will highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility with finance and non-finance contacts.
