Lead Package Engineer (Offshore) , Oil & Gas Client of Source Pundit - Malaysia

Typical background and experience required:  Must have

The Candidate (preferably Malaysian) shall posses a RECOGNISED Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Hons or equivalent), Second-class upper (or first class) and very fluent in professional English (oral /written) with good communication skill.

i) Senior Mechanical Engineer – Lead  Package Engineer

Possess at least minimum 15 years of Engineering DESIGN experience in handling various Package Equipment for Onshore /Offshore application (in Detailed Engineering DESIGN) ie. Process Packages, Utility Packages, Material Handling equipment, and Water Treatment /WWT experience, Fired Equipment & Flare. And at least in Lead Mechanical Engineer position for  minimum 5 years in EPC working environment (completion of 2 EPC Jobs), including handling Contractual matters /V.O. with Client, 

ii )  be able to work independently and have the ability to Lead a team of Package Equipment Engineers / Mechanical Engineers for oil & gas Offshore topsides detailed design projects

iii)   be able to produce Engineering specifications /Requisitions/ perform Equipment selection for Client approval in fast-track environments and CONDUCT technical clarification meetings with potential Bidders /Clients / JV Partners Design and calculation /report,

iv) be thorough with the standards and good engineering practices of international oil companies, in addition to international codes such as API, ASME/ANSI , NFPA, NACE, EN and ISO .

v) Good interaction skill with Disciplines /Project Engineering team / Client /Third parties/Vendor – for Interface Engineering,  ability to resolve Contractual discrepancies /V.O. Claim with Client

Main scope of Engineering deliverables performed include:

-           Planning, schedule for Deliverables

-           Basic engineering design and calculation reports

-           Equipment pre-selection reports (for Package Equipment)

-           Technical Clarifications and Bid Evaluation Reports

-           Equipment Cost estimation /Weight estimation

-           Interface with other disciplines ,

-           Conduct KOM / Review meeting

-           Vendor Data Review/Bid Proposal Approval / Review Manufacturer Data Report (MDR)

-           Inspection assistance (which will include own Technical Analyses of test results)

-           Ability to solve site related issues / Support to Site Technical Queries (STQ)

v) He must possess detailed knowledge of his field and able to perform technical audit / Pre-qualification meeting at Vendor’s premises

Desired Skills & Experience

Nice to have

vi)  be willing to travel and stationed at various operating centres on needs basis  ( for Oversees assignment)

vii) Knowledge of PDMS / Model review experience

ix) Offshore visits experience

x)  Short-term Site or Fabrication experience (1~ 2 yrs maximum)

xi)  Perform Assessment on Vendor workshop’s capability

 Main accountabilities:

i) Possess relevant qualification and knowledge, professional experience, good professional judgment, responsive and pro-active in execution of Mechanical deliverables to meet project needs, and ability to handle difficult situations arise due to complexities of Projects demand

ii) Produce Quality Engineering deliverables / engineering service and meeting Client expectation

iii) Able to achieve project milestone / schedule, and business goals , and manage Claim /V.O. justification

iv) Fulfill QA /HSE aspects, with acceptable team-works

v) Ability to Lead Senior Engineers  / coach young engineers for performance
