Applications are invited for a continuing (equivalent to tenured) position in the subject area of Developmental Psychology. The appointment will be made at the level of Lecturer (equivalent to USA Assistant Professor) orSenior Lecturer (equivalent to USA Associate Professor). Applicants should make it clear which level of appointment they are seeking.
Applicants with an active research programme in any area of Developmental Psychology will be considered. Applicants will have a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology or a closely-related area and have demonstrated, or show clear potential, in scholarly and research achievements. University level teaching experience in the area of Developmental Psychology is desirable.
The Department has a strong history of supporting high quality research and offers :
- Excellent facilities for developmental research, including a special facility on the edge of campus set up for family/child interviews and observations (the Child Development House), and a first class animal facility.
- A history of supporting productive developmental research Partnership with the NZ Institute of Brain Research and access to a 3T scanner (so long as operating costs can be met).
- A history of collaboration with the Christchurch Health and Development study and other developmental and pediatric researchers in NZ.
- Opportunities to collaborate within the Department and across the University.
