IT Workplace Engineer (Temporary position)

Role reports to Team Leads OR Regional Lead for Workplace (dependent on staff volumes required in each region).

Workplace is the service responsible for the technical delivery, support and management of desktop and laptop computers, PDAs, printers, video conferencing facilities and application services. Application services are not in scope of the Regional Leads (other than for assistance with application deployment).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for local, "hands on" support activity in the designated locations.
- Service requests
- new requests, issues etc
- timely resolution of all queries within SLA targets
- updating of call records
- escalation of issues etc
- "Smart hands" cover
- act as smart hands for other technology service streams if no local presence is available from that stream.
- Administration
- accurate time recording
- feed into personal development framework. Actively seek opportunities to improve, follow process etc
- General
- familiarise with the strategy of the service
- feed requirements/suggestions into Workplace line management
- ensure corporate values are embedded in everything done
- Focusing on Customers

- Keep abreast of new technologies and industry best practices

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extremely strong technical skills in Workplace technologies
- Very strong team working skills
- Very strong service management skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Good knowledge of other technology platforms
- English speaking
- Professional experience in the region

Education:

Degree or equivalent (relevant, extensive industry experience may be considered on account)

Certifications:
- Relevant technical qualifications essential (e.g. MCSE, CNE etc)
- ITIL certifications preferred
