Responsibilities include: Successful candidate will manage all safety systems applicable to a supervisory position. Individual will oversee the construction crew supervisors and project engineers to ensure the safe construction of underground infrastructure to include, but not limited to, air doors, ventilation bulkheads, sump installations, concrete placement, etc. Write and review Authorization for Expenditures (AFE) ensure accuracy, track costs to ensure that projects are at or under budgeted AFE amounts and ensure that costs are correct with respects to capital or expense budgets. Individual will work closely with other underground departments to set project priorities, also work with departments outside the underground i.e. Environmental for permitting and compliance issues, Contracts Department to ensure that contracts are in place, and Purchasing to ensure that purchasing orders are issued prior to work commencing. Interface with outside contractors when required and responsible for the contractor controls to ensure they work to our high standards. This position is a support function of the mine and must be able to take on new challenges as they come; an open minded approach to work requests is required. Other duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Minimum ten (10) years underground experience with preference in construction related work required
• Supervisory experience required
• Strong safety and leadership skills required
• Excellent attendance record required
• Proven safety record required
• Excellent communication skills, computer skills and organization skills required
• Ability to do field design work as needed required
