Main Purpose
To assist in the delivery of all aspects of CES’ programme in the Southeast
Main Tasks
The ADO will:
  • Assist on the delivery of a high quality project advice service for community groups in a geographical area.
  • Work efficiently within the Operations Team and CES as a whole to bring out the full potential of staff and organisation.
  • In liaison with Area Development Officer and Area Manager ensure high quality and cost-effective delivery of all operational programmes and service contract obligations.
  • Contribute to all reporting requirements in the specified area.
  • To represent CES in events relating to delivery of all services and contracts
  • To maintain a high level of awareness of new service contract opportunities and work on bids to deliver new service opportunities.
  • Ensure high standards of governance and operate within CES policies.
  • Build effective relations with CES members in the area, in close liaison with the Membership Development Officer
  • Represent CES at all levels in the specified area and undertake promotional activities and public speaking
  • Undertake other tasks as agreed from time to time with the Area Manager andCEO
Person Specification
This post is the main delivery post of CES’ practical support to community energy projects across Scotland.

  • Awareness of the requirements for effective team-working and work effectively in high-performing teams.
  • Understanding and experience of community development and the requirements for developing successful community projects.
  • An ability to build good and trusting working relationships with community groups
  • Good organisational and administration skills
  • Determination and perseverance in the face of obstacles and challenges
  • An ability to drive forward work based projects and programmes
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • An ability to organize resources in a way to achieve significant outcomes for CESand our clients.
  • A pleasant and patient demeanour that can work through difficult issues to reach satisfactory conclusions.
  • A high level of self-motivation and strong commitment to CES, its ethos and purpose
  • Possession of a full driving licence
