Project Officer – Flooding and Water Management
37 Hours per week / Permanent
You will be responsible for the delivery of important new flooding and water management duties for the County Council. The key tasks concern the assessment and approval of works affecting small watercourses, responding to reports of local flooding from the public and liaising with other agencies and officers in the County Council in seeking to find effective and environmentally sound solutions to local flood problems.
Reporting to Senior Managers you will be able to work under your own initiative, with limited supervision, and manage your time and a varied workload.
Strong communication skills will support a good technical understanding of the projects on which you are working.
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, and having previous suitable experience; you will also have a genuine interest in and excellent understanding of environmental issues underpinning your professional work.
