Job Summary

​Cardno ENTRIX is seeking a mid-level Cultural Resource Specialist to help grow our cultural resource group and to work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished biologists, hydrologists, geologists, engineers and planners on a variety of projects in southern California.

Key Responsibilities

​Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparation of proposals and budgets
  • Management of small-to-medium size projects
  • Preparation of cultural resources sections for environmental documents (e.g., EIR/EIS)
  • Consultation with the SHPO and agencies
  • Record searches and other achival research
  • Consultation with Indian tribes, federal, state and local agencies
  • Pedestrian surface survey
  • Excavation
  • Site recording and completion of site reports
  • Completion of reports
  • Organizing, managing, and participating in monitoring
  • Marketing with internal and external clients
  • Ability to grow the cultural resources practice in Southern California region

Other Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in archaeology or anthropology
  • A minimum of five years experience in cultural resources management in California
  • A minimum of 2 - 4 years experience specific to Southern California
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and other programs
  • Ability to travel frequently to field sites and other Cardno ENTRIX office locations on the West Coast
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
Desired Qualifications:
  • Five to seven years experience in cultural resources management in California (preferably southern California)
  • Significant experience in the preparation of CEQA and NEPA-compliant environmental documents
  • Significant experience working on utilities/energy-related projects
  • Significant experience working with Indian tribes and agencies in the southwestern U.S.
  • Experience preparing agreement documents, including MOA's, MOU's, and PA's as part of the Section 106 process
  • Excellent ArcGIS field skills
  • Significant professional experience in survey, site recording, excavation and report writing
  • Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment
  • Solid time management skills
  • Positive and energetic attitude
  • Self motivated; strong initiative
  • Detail oriented; resourceful
  • Proactive marketing experience
  • Ability to consult with Indian tribes and agencies in the preparation of agreement documents as part of the Section 106 process.
