The BBC Marketing Team defines and delivers a consistent and compelling brand and marketing strategy to position the BBC as a brand leader and to create a stronger relationship with our audiences.

Brand Teams support each division including Vision, Audio & Music, Journalism Group, Future Media, BBC North and each nation and region.

Role

You main responsibilities in this role will be to ead a matrix team of discipline or product area specialists to ensure a coherent, consistent digital experience for audiences aligned to the BBC’s one service strategy across 4 screens, ultimately leading to growth and higher QRV measures for the BBC Online service as a whole.

Working in close partnership with the heads of marketing and audiences of the ten products you will exhibit outstanding strategic brand and product marketing expertise to help deliver the BBC’s one service strategy, aligned to the BBC Online Service Licence set by the BBC Trust.

You will also have specific responsibility for the leading the marketing strategy and plan for the BBC Homepage, Search and Navigation product and working groups – pulling the matrixed team of disciplines together to set a cohesive Marketing & Audiences (M&A) strategy. Some travel will be necessary because the product team are based in Salford.

Requirements

You will possess senior level experience in the field of Marketing leadership, gained within media or an industry of similar scale and complexity, with demonstrable experience and understanding of digital.
 
This will be partnered by a full understanding of audiences, and experience in translating competitor analysis and insight into successful strategies, demonstrating an ability to respond and anticipate an ever changing media landscape. An interest in social and cultural trends, developments in digital media, broadcasting technology and user experience design is a must.
 
Your core skills will be as a strategic thinker with experience of successfully influencing and directing strategic development in a complex stakeholder environment; a proven track record and passion for leading others and bringing people together; an ability to build and leading high performing teams; excellent interpersonal skills to establish rapport, credibility and relationships at a senior level across the BBC, and the ability to manage a budget.
