Department

The BBC has recognised that its Marketing & Audiences Division must transform to become ‘fit for digital’. This requires change across many areas, involving many stakeholders within a complex, matrixed and dispersed organisation.

To accelerate this change, the Head of Digital Marketing Transformation has set up a “Digital Marketing Lab”, which will deliver innovative and best-in-class digital marketing campaigns for the BBC, and will focus on driving change in an iterative way by capturing learning and turning this into new processes, tools, benchmarks and ways of working. This Lab will maintain a top level strategic viewpoint that is aligned to M&A shared goals and with BBC business strategy.

Role

You will work across the entire BBC portfolio: Television Brands and Programmes, Radio, Sports, News, Children’s, iPlayer & BBC online. Within Marketing & Audiences, you will work directly with Creative Marketing, Media Engagement, Planning, Brand Marketing, Research and Measurement teams. The Lab will operate independently, but not remotely, and will work alongside business as usual. Collaboration and a joined up approach to shared goals are vital to the success of this pilot. You will play a part in exciting and educating teams across M&A to have a better understanding of the role that digital needs to play within the BBC.

These roles will have two primary objectives:

 - To help the BBC’s Marketing & Audiences community re-imagine and re-shape their approach to marketing planning, campaigns, measurement and reporting to enable the BBC brand to stand out

 - To help establish the Digital Lab as an effective and innovative resource that supports M&A’s transformation to get fit for digital.

Requirements

You will bring an outstanding record of strategic and creative success in digital marketing, obtained at a senior level from the digital media, advertising agency or industry with a similar brand facing digital business. You will also have substantial experience of providing business and organisational support at a senior level within a major organisation, consultancy or agency.

Proven ability to lead relationships with large and complex clients is key, as is digital experience, both complemented by a good understanding of marketing in the broadest sense.

Authoritative and confident when discussing digital marketing, you will have the ability to see the bigger strategic picture and implications, whilst exhibiting a passion for digital, and a questioning mind that pushes the boundaries and creates flexible solutions to complex problems.
The ability to lead and motivate project teams and provide strong conflict resolution will be paramount.
