Projects Coordinator, UK & Europe Conservation Programme


Salary £23,971 including London weighting
ZSL is looking for a Projects Coordinator to support the delivery of the UK & Europe Conservation Programme. The current project portfolio focuses on the marine and freshwater environment. As such, we are seeking a candidate with a graduate degree, and/or a masters degree, in marine ecology or similar. The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of projects but initially will be involved with the conservation of UK marine mammals, the European eel and other migratory fish, and invasive non-native species (aquatic). The main geographic focus of the work will be the Thames Estuary.
The role will be both technical and administrative. There will also be an element of fieldwork (at least one day per week). The main responsibilities include the day-to-day management of project finances and administration; monthly reporting; maintenance of web and social network communications; organising meetings and fieldwork logistics; contributing to fundraising; contributing to staff recruitment and management as well as carrying out regular aquatic field surveys and report writing. This position will give a good grounding for a career in conservation.
A full driving licence is essential.
